Defensive backs Daniel Isom and Trey Davis have been dismissed by the Washington State football team over unspecified rules violations, according to multiple reports.

Isom, a redshirt junior, had started seven games this season. Davis, who originally signed with USC but transferred over the summer, had played in four games as a freshman.

The school has not announced the decision, but The Spokesman-Review says an official confirmed it.

The Cougars lost 33-20 to Cal on Saturday, prompting coach Mike Leach to call out some of his players, though not by name.

“Somehow we’ve failed to reach the group,” Leach said. “Our team leaders in the group; they’re either frauds, or they haven’t reached the group either.”

Earlier in the season, Leach called his players “fat, dumb, happy and entitled” after a blowout loss to Utah.

Washington State, which is 4-5 on the season and 1-5 in the Pac-12, hosts Stanford on Saturday.
