Michigan wide receiver Tarik Black entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal on Friday, announcing his decision on social media.

Black, a junior who plans to be a graduate transfer in 2020, will have two years of eligibility remaining.

“I would like to thank the University of Michigan coaching staff, training staff, my teammates, administration and true fan base for embracing me during my time in Ann Arbor,” Black wrote on Instagram.

“I have built life long friendships and bonds that will follow me the rest of my life and I’m truly thankful for this experience!”

The 6-foot-4, 206-pound wideout was hampered by foot injuries as a freshman and sophomore. After a promising start in 2017 with 11 catches for 149 yards, he finished 2018 with four receptions for 35 yards.

In 2019, he played in 11 games for the Wolverines, recording 25 catches for 323 yards and one touchdown. He has 40 career catches for 507 yards at Michigan.

His status for Michigan’s game against Alabama in the Citrus Bowl on Jan. 1 has not been announced.
